A Bolton manufacturer has made a record number of recruits as the firm goes from strength to strength.

Assembly Solutions Ltd, based on Terence House on Nile Street, has signed up 15 additional staff this summer.

The cable assembly company, which supplies to world leading manufacturers including Ford, Siemens and Vodafone, has seen a 20 per cent growth in sales and is forecasting a record year.

Despite the economic challenges and the shrinking labour pool that has not been helped by Brexit, the business have seen an increase in UK manufacturing opportunities which has led to them securing a number of significant cable assembly and wiring harness contracts.

With the new starters, the company has reached a record workforce of 90 full time staff.

The new starters include three ambitious apprentices, Alex Waterworth, Isobel Hargreaves and Jamie Preston, who are all hoping to move on to senior roles in the technical and engineering department.

The company is also still searching for new stars to fill roles in their production and quality department.

HR director Sophie Balshaw said: “It has been a challenging year trying to recruit the right people, but with patience and positivity, we have now built a really strong team that is helping the company achieve amazing things.

“Our priority is to continue growing, with people who bring great energy and believe in our mission and vision of creating the best customer experience and being the best in class.

“I’m so excited to see all the new starters shine and look forward to creating many more job opportunities to the people of Bolton and surrounding areas.”

Sophie is a co-owner of the company, along with her two brothers Gareth and Oliver Balshaw, after the company was passed down by their father and founder, Graham Balshaw, in 2020.
